...Oh, wow... that's absolutely beautiful! It looks like it must have been difficult to paint, with the way the light is.. but I'm no painter, so I have no clue. I love the gentle tones you used, and the softness of their wings. The female forms look perfect, as well. All in all a stunning painting in my humble opinion! One that I want to favorite so I can look at it again later! ^__^
Yep, there's reason to be happy about the result. Why didn't you like doing it, pray tell? I can see that it is not your typical style/motif, are there more reasons?
Regarding the result: well, it's done well, but I can't really put my fingers on it, somehow. The angels themselves seem to be right in overall, but the details again seem not to be; the wings, for example, seem to be without movement, both just protruding from the back as if they'd been glued there. Still, the winks look neat (probably due to the detail), and it somehow works in the overall picture.
Same with the childish angel's dress, for example: totally oversized, when comparing how those ... offshoots ('scuse me not knowing a damn of clothing-related vocabulary) reach out far beyond her legs, while they don't go that far down when comparing it to the elder angel's legs. Yet still, it works.
The effect of the light.. streaming from where they touch with their fingers. That's so kitschy. Yet still, it works.
